Converted Wagons

Being a small railway the DLR uses converted wagons for the passengers. These have had “doors” cut into them and plywood seating added. To comply with discrimination legislation each wagon has two 6-seat “compartments” with a third compartment that will take wheelchairs or pushchairs.

The base wagons were Peco kits, fairly old style but sufficient for my purposes. I cut out the doors with the aid of a fine saw and scalpel, the seats were made using small square-section wood and hand coloured card. The chains across the doors are about the smallest link size I could get!
